Azadi Dictionary

The Azadi Dictionary is a list of key terms and words that Azadi uses in their community and their definitions. The objective of this dictionary is to ensure clarity, consistency, and shared understanding on the different and commonly used terms and terminologies in their community and work.

Azadi shares it freely as a resource with the GLC and anyone who might find it useful in their work with survivors. It has proved incredibly useful when translators and interpreters are relied upon to communicate across language divides. Being sensitive to language when communicating with survivors is an important part of a trauma-informed approach.
